Mike graduated from Loughborough in June
1969 with a DLC (2nd Class Hons), after
which he progressed to become Head of
Physical Education in a comprehensive
school. A keen rugby player, on returning to
his native Yorkshire, Mike was fortunate to
represent the county in the early 1970s.
Mike still plays league cricket and is
Chairman of Edwinstowe CC, a thriving
'Focus Club' in the Bassetlaw League (Notts).
As well as continuing his sporting interests, Mike was appointed a JP and served for a
number of
years before moving to Nottinghamshire. He has been married to Jackie for
35 years, with whom he
has three grown up children, all keen skiers, one of whom, Katy,
is also a BASI ski instructor.
Mike began working in the Aosta Valley back in 1980, where he was involved in many
aspects of the
ski business. In 1983 he became a founder member of Interski.
Today, Mike (affectionately referred to by us all as 'Wiggie') is primarily responsible for
the
organisation of Interski coaching arrangements. With in excess of 30 coaches
travelling to Italy
and back on busy dates, it's certainly no mean feat ensuring that
coaches and clients are all in
the right place at the right time! On call every weekend
throughout the winter, Mike is always on
hand if you have a problem on departure day.
He is also the person to speak to if you have a
query regarding insurance or if you need
clarification on Safety Management.
